On the new summer menu, you will find what Stefan Kläy and his team in the Berghaus kitchen are particularly enthusiastic about: watermelon carpaccio with pine and gin and tonic sorbet, Tschentäröschti with raw ham, burrata and strawberries, a tartare of Piedmontese beef or the crispy Schwindi with tomato pasta and parmesan. In addition, there are the classics that the mountain restaurant is known for: cheese fondue from Schmid Mani from the village dairy and fish and chips with perch from Frutigen.
Wherever possible, the ingredients come from the region. Sliced cheese from Stiegelschwand, Adelboden mineral water and our own Tschenten beer on tap.
Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes are clearly marked on the menu, and there is a separate children’s menu for the little ones.
We recommend reservations on Sundays and public holidays.

The chef who creates memories from ingredients
Stefan Kläy’s Berghaus kitchen smells of home. Of roasted onions, fresh herbs and the warm aroma of braised meat.
Stefan brings years of experience in top gastronomy to the mountain. Landgasthof Lueg in Emmental, Restaurant Schönbühl and Viktoria Eden in Adelboden – stages of an impressive career that have been honored with 14 Gault Millau points. Now he has chosen Tschentenalp as his new stage.
Here, Stefan cooks with a team that is just as passionate as he is. Together they create surprising dishes that stay in your memory: Älplermagronen that are both a childhood memory and a gourmet experience, lamb ragout that smells of mountains and meadows. With Stefan and his team, you don’t just taste the food. You taste his story.

When Erwin Oester smiles, you know: You have arrived. Our host has that rare gift of immediately making people feel welcome. Whether you’re spontaneously driving up with the family or planning your wedding – Erwin listens, understands and makes things possible.
He knows every stone on the Tschentenalp and every story that has been written here. With him, a simple mountain excursion becomes a day that you will remember for a long time to come. Because Erwin knows that the special things often lie in the little moments. And he creates them with a warmth that you can’t learn – you have to have it.

From May to December, we invite you to brunch every second Sunday from 9 am to 1 pm. Our buffet with regional specialties leaves nothing to be desired. All dates and registration can be found in the link.
